NFPA 211 Proposes Changes for the 2024 Edition

During the 2023 NCSG Convention, Jim Brewer, who represents NCSG on the NFPA 211 committee, shared standards updates proposed for the 2024 edition. NEWS RELEASE: NCSG Launches New Chimney Professional Certification Program

Ankeny, Iowa — The National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) has officially launched the new Chimney Professional Certification Program. Chimney sweeps can become a Certified Chimney Professional (CCP), Certified Chimney Reliner (CCR) and Certified Chimney Journeyman (CCJ) beginning today.

The new and enhanced certifications were developed over the past year with the input of nearly 600 chimney sweeps following rigorous international standards. NCSG has worked transparently with the industry to ensure the tasks, knowledge and skills demonstrated by passing the CCP, CCR and CCJ exams recognize the credibility of the certified chimney professional.
